Hancock St Architectural Tour
30 Hancock Street
- This Greek revival home built in 1845 was extensively remodeled in the late 1800’s.
- The most interesting feature is the Porte-cochere (Pronounced: port ko share). A Porte-cochere is a covered porch-like structure through which a vehicle (or horse and carriage) can pass to provide arriving and departing occupants protection from the elements.
- Of note are the leaded glass windows and elaborate cutwork trellis.
